Whangaroa Race & Cruising Rally 2026

The annual 36° Brokers and Bay of Islands Yacht Club Whangaroa Race and Cruising Rally is back, and it’s one of the best excuses of the year to get out on the water! 

Date: 25 April
Start: Waitangi, Bay of Islands
Finish: Whangaroa Harbour
Cost: $50.00 per boat

Set sail from just off the Bay of Islands Yacht Club and spend the day heading up the coast, racing or cruising your way toward one of New Zealand’s most iconic harbours.

Race it hard or take it easy; this event is built for everyone. It’s as much about the people and the weekend as it is the sailing, a chance to get your crew together, enjoy the coastline, and finish the day in good company in Whangaroa.

Sailing Instructions

The organising authority is the Bay of Islands Yacht Club Inc. The race will be governed by the rules defined in the Yachting NZ Rules of Sailing and Safety Regulations (current).
