Over 120 guys packed into Soul Bar & Bistro on the Viaduct on Wednesday 12 August for this year's Lads Who Lunch. There was rain about, but it just meant everyone was inside making the most of good company instead. We were down there all afternoon as sponsors, and it was a really awesome afternoon!

Doors opened at midday for drinks and a chat, everyone sat down for lunch by 12:30, and once the speakers got going the room really settled into it. Two courses, plenty of catching up, and no shortage of people worth meeting.

Guest speaker Simon van Velthooven had a lot to do with that. Olympic bronze medallist, three-time America's Cup winner with Emirates Team New Zealand, and someone who clearly knows how to hold a room. High energy, good stories, everyone locked in the whole way through.

Our team spent most of the afternoon doing what we do best, talking boats with anyone up for it. Whether someone's after their first yacht or thinking about an upgrade, a lunch like this is a good excuse for that conversation to happen. Plenty of new faces, a few familiar ones, and some useful connections made along the way.
