Ground-breaking innovation at Excess Catamarans isn’t something new, so there’s no surprise that the latest and greatest Excess 14 is here to impress.
This 14m catamaran is the product of a design process that is contemporary, outside the box, and makes no compromise on sailing performance or comfort.
This boat has everything you’d expect from a cruising boat- from comfortable layouts, to a spacious saloon and deck area with ample storage throughout.
Drawing on the ocean racing pedigree of VPLP design, this boat's unique asymmetric hull shape cuts through the water with ease, minimising drag. The bridge deck clearance has been increased for better passage through the water and waves.
The sleek lines of the hull and composite bowsprit complete this boat’s distinctive look.
Whether is living aboard, crossing oceans or sailing with the family, the Excess 14 has the ability, space and seaworthiness. The sailing sensations from this boat are sure to thrill those who love being on the ocean.
A direct steering system with rope has been engineered for a better feel under sail. The helm stations are set aft, positioned just above the extended rudders.
An impressive high aspect ratio rig features a tall mast and square top mainsail. The mast is set aft to allow for more sail area forward, and a big overlapping genoa. The visibility on the Excess 14 is fantastic due to the large, untinted windows throughout the boat, giving you an almost 360° view.
The innovation continues with the new layout options, unlike anything seen in the current market. The four-cabin version features the option of four double cabins with four heads, or three double cabins and one twin berth cabin, with two heads in the starboard hull and one to port. The three cabin owners version layout offers two double cabins and heads to port, with a double cabin, couch and walk-in dressing room to starboard.
The large windows also add to the light and modern interior. It features Scandinavian-inspired styling by Nautia design with signature Beneteau Alpi wood finishing. High volume with plenty of storage, the efficient hull shape hasn’t compromised comfort inside the Excess 14.
