Welcome "Island Thyme" – A Stunning New Addition to the Beneteau Family
“There can be a temptation, when looking at buying a cruising boat, to go a little bit large, and get a bit more than you really need. The new Beneteau Oceanis 34.1 offers its new owners everything they need in a tidy package, offering plenty of features packed into a manageable-size boat.”
Boating NZ have released their review of the new Beneteau Oceanis 34.1. Recently sold by 36° Brokers, and it is nothing short of what you would expect.
Island Thyme, a beautiful Beneteau Oceanis 34.1 recently sold by our team, arrived in New Zealand and has been commissioned just in time for Summer. This 35-foot cruiser exemplifies clever design, balancing comfortable living spaces with performance sailing capabilities.
Island Thyme is tailored for its new owners' cruising lifestyle, featuring a two-cabin layout with the option for a third, and a spacious separate shower compartment. The port quarter has been transformed into a practical ‘garage,’ ideal for storing sails, water toys, and more. The fold-up chart table further maximises usable space, turning the saloon into a versatile area for relaxation and additional sleeping options.
On deck, smart features include a furling main and jib for effortless handling, a solid Seldén rig, and a spacious transom with unobstructed water access. With a code zero sail option and a robust anchor system, Island Thyme is equipped for both comfort and adventure.
During its delivery sail to Waiheke, the boat demonstrated exceptional balance and control, thanks to its refined hull design, hard chine, and twin rudders. Despite its conservative sail plan, Island Thyme’s design ensures smooth, enjoyable sailing in a variety of conditions.
Beneteau has seamlessly integrated style and functionality into this next-generation design, offering a yacht that is as elegant as it is practical. Congratulations to Island Thyme's new owners – we wish them many memorable voyages ahead!
