40 Years of French Craftsmanship

The Oceanis 42 arrives as the Oceanis range marks its 40th anniversary. Beneteau's French craftsmanship has shaped the identity of this line since the very first model, and the Oceanis 42 continues that legacy, built by the same skilled French workforce.

Forty years on, most of the Oceanis range is still made in France, a reflection of Beneteau's enduring commitment to quality boat building.

 

Unmatched Modularity

The Oceanis 42 is the only 40-footer on the market offering five layout options and a choice between an L-shaped galley or a linear galley with a larger work surface. The rig has grown too. The standard furling mast stands 60cm taller, with the classic and performance masts up 30cm, courtesy of Lombard. More sail area, more power, without losing accessibility or control.

The seagoing L-shaped galley sits low at the companionway for stability when heeling, with 215 litres of cooling capacity, the largest in the 40-foot segment.

Great for Kiwi Sailors

New Zealand sailors ask a lot of their boats, and the Oceanis 42 delivers. Twin helm stations and an intuitive layout make short-handed sailing around the Hauraki Gulf or down to the Coromandel genuinely manageable, solo or as a couple. The taller rig makes the most of a good Gulf breeze, while the deep hull keeps things controlled offshore.

Open transom for a swim stop at Kawau or Waiheke. Closed transom for a safer, social evening at anchor with the kids aboard. Five layouts mean you configure her around how you actually sail, whether that's anchored off Urupukapuka in the Bay of Islands, a weekend run to Great Barrier, or further afield to Fiji and the Pacific.
