They’ve only recently been launched and already the Excess Catamarans are receiving high praise in some of the worlds most prestigious award ceremonies. 

In late 2019, the Excess 15 clinched ‘Multihull of the Year’ title in the British Yachting Awards amidst hot competition from some of the biggest multihull brands. The decision came from votes cast from Sailing Today and Yachts & Yachting subscribers, highlighting the appeal from boating enthusiasts about this all-new catamaran with bright interior, lacquered finish, and sharp design. 

Next up, the Excess 12 was also sure to impress at Cruising World’s event held at Chesapeake Bay on the East Coast. The smaller of the two catamarans gave a winning performance for the best Cruising Multihull in the under 40 feet category. The jury appreciated this boat’s unique lines and sailing qualities, even in strong winds, big gusts and torrential rain. It was one of 22 boats from 7 different countries who came together for the event aimed at determining the best cruising boats of the year.
