Last Friday, Island Cruising, Viki Moore, and 36° Brokers teamed up to host the Island Cruising Seminar at the 36° Auckland head office. We had a great turnout with 30 or so people, many of them new to Bluewater cruising, eager to dive into the world of ocean sailing.

Viki Moore kicked things off with a presentation on cruising the Pacific, which quickly turned into a lively Q&A. Viki covered all the logistics that she works on, from weather patterns and the best times to head out and return to New Zealand, to the most interesting routes and how to deal with customs paperwork.

36° Broker Robbs also shared his family's adventure sailing to Minerva Reef, Tonga, and Fiji. His advice was spot-on, especially for families with young kids, and he even threw in some tips on trimming sails for comfort and setting up a storm sail.

We wrapped up with a Q&A session where guests asked about everything from how kids handle long passages to travelling with pets and picking the right boat for ocean cruising. It was a great chance for everyone to get their questions answered.
